My father liked to say, ‘denial is not a river in Egypt!”

We all live in varying states of denial, and that is required to maintain our sanity.

The truth of our existence does not abdicate the need to function, but the brain power necessary to allow the function perverts true reality.

We reflect each other, and bounce off of each others’ energy. We rely on certain functions, abilities, and basic truths as presented, and carried in our DNA. However, this is a fragile system depending upon a common agreement.

We agree that certain exceptional experiences are facts. We agree that the need to function is a similar experience for everyone. We agree that perfection is achievable if we only try. We agree that there is a common denominator which we strive to meet on a daily basis.

Our story is one of exceptional bravery in the face of uncertainty. We strive for the dream, and react to outside stimuli as if we can control our lives. But that is a lie.

We can only control our character and our responses to outside situations/stimuli.

What we can control, we will. But then, we’ll ultimately let go of the rest and surrender to uncertainty, to the frightening reality of our existence and to the unknowing. Surrender to the wealth of mysteries that surround us; and to the fact that we will never truly know the answers.

But we will keep asking the questions.
